Schwazé

Have you ever realized that a word you have been using your entire life isn't actually part of yours or any language? Thats what happened to me with the word "Schwazé"

You see... all throughout my K-12 education I would use the "schwazé" to describe a situation that was cool. I guess I never defined what it meant because I just assumed everyone else knew. In college I used "schwazé" in a paper. Turns out my writing seminar professor was former IV League and had helped write part of the ACT, she made sure to inform me that "schwazé" cannot be found in any dictionary

Well new words are created all the time, aren't they!? It was with this goal in mind that I registered the domain schwaze.com. For about a year I didn't know what to do with it, but in May of 2006 a good friend of mine suggested making a site that would basically bookmark various sites we found on the Internet. That transformed into a site where stories are posted, and registered users can vote on the schwa-factor of the story, as well as comment on them. As for the definition, you will hopefully see a different one each time you visit :-)

As of October of 2006 schwaze.com is getting about 1,000 unique visitors a week, unfortunately very few bother with the registration. I try my best to post a couple stories a week, but with work and school I just haven't had the random internet browsing time I need to keep the site going quickly. If anyone out there feels they truly grasp the essence of schwazé, and would like to be a poster on the site, let me know :-)
